The Memorial

The Noel Chavasse Commemorative Memorial is a shard of corten steel, 8 metres long and rising out of the ground to a height of 2 metres. The design reflects the angular buildings which surround the park, whilst the weathering of the rust-like steel reflects the existing sand stone walls of the surrounding landscaped park.

The engraving is a selection of words that give an insight into the short, but highly notable, life of Noel Chavasse, the words of which can be seen, in full, below.
